The Day Before the Wedding (Friday, Sept 14th)

We know that many of you will be rolling into town the day before our wedding and might be wondering what the heck to do with yourselves. We have taken it upon ourselves to rent out a portion of the restaurant / bar Avalon from 7:30 until ...well...whenver you want to leave. (Bar time is 2 AM here) Avalon is in a part of town called the Fan (where Sam and I live) and is a a short cab ride from any of the hotels in the city. (Maybe 5 minutes-ish?)

Avalon has a great menu, a fine full bar, and holds a special significance as this is where Sam and I met. It is located at 2619 West Main St. , Richmond, VA 23220. Their phone number is 804 353 9709.

There is no need to RSVP for this - just show up. This is totally an informal event so there is no pressure to eat dinner there or anything. This is just some good old fashioned hanging out with drinky drinks (not the free kind...sorry guys!) and food if you want it. (also not of the free persuasion - double sorry!)

We are still working out the after the wedding reception plan post 11:00 PM on the 15th as well as the day after ho-down ...so more to come from us soon.

xoxo,
Tracy and Sam

Clarity

Hey gang, just so there is no misunderstanding, the invites coming in the mail are for the reception only. The actual wedding ceremony will be happening that morning, privately (so no one can see us cry), so consider yourselves spared! ;)

You Want Me To Do What??

Art! We want you to make art and here's why:
  • We are having our reception in an art gallery
  • The walls of the gallery are blank and need art
  • We like the art!
  • Making us art is cheaper than buying us something
  • Not only is it cheaper, but its more personal and unique
  • It would be a really special gift for the both of us

What better decorations for a wedding than the talent of our friends!

If you aren't an artisit, don't worry about it. We understand not everyone makes art. Sam doesn't, nor can he! :) Other gifts are great too!

Kinds of art we are looking for:

  • Anything goes but please keep in mind that this is, afterall, a wedding reception!
  • Nothing pornographic, overly violent, or stuff that will make us regret this idea!
  • Any size
  • Any medium
  • Again, pretty much anything goes

If you are going to make art here are two things you can do:

  1. Mail it to us in advance
  2. Bring it with you and drop it off at Gallery 5 between 2pm-6pm (before reception begins)

Make sure when sending the art you give us all the info on it (who made it, title, etc.)

If you are maling it try and have it to us a couple of days before the wedding date (9/15)

Here's where we're gettin' hitched

The wedding itself is going to be a small private event in the early morning but we thought it would be cool to show you what we're doing. Here are pictures of the Richmond canal walk and the canal boats. We will be doing the ceremony on one of the boats on the canal!

Our Home

That little rooftop patio you see is where I proposed to Tracy. Its our favorite place in the summer time and carries some of our fondest memories of living here.
